TD to meet every voter in Ongole

The Telugu Desam (TD) has intensified its efforts to attract voters to their party in the byelection for the Ongole assembly seat in view of byelection schedule announcement by the Election Commission. Polling for byelection would be held on June 12 and counting would be conducted on June 15. Election notification would be issued on May 18, nominations received till May 25 and scrutiny on 26.  
There are 197802 voters in the Ongole constituency according to latest voters’ list in which 96472 are men and rest of 101330 were women. Besides this, voters of Kandukur assembly constituency are going to cast their votes in the byelection as it comes under Nellore parliament constituency where byelection is inevitable due to resignation of Mr Mekapati Rajmohan Reddy who joined YSR Congress. There are 180150 voters in the Kandukur constituency in which 91055 are men and 89095 were women.
The TD has appointed 30 senior leaders including its Markapuram MLA, Mr Kandula Narayana Reddy and former MLAs at Ongole to mobiles voters.  The TD has divided the entire constituency into 19 sectors to reach every voter in all 233 polling booths of Ongole constituency. TD supremo, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s proposed visit of April 25 was also postponed to May first week in view of election schedule announcement. Mr Naidu had directed Mr Narayana Reddy to look after Kothapatnam mandal where the YSR Congress was gaining popularity in the past few days.
The Telugu Rythu state president, Mr Karanam Balaramakrishnamurthy was appointed as party coordinator. Another former legislator, Mr E. Haribabu was directed to look after Ongole urban and other senior leaders for other sectors. Besides this, some state leaders are going to camp at Ongole to campaign TD candidate, Mr Damacharla Janardhan.
