VHP demands cancellation of Muslim
quota
DC CORRESPONDENT
ONGOLE, APRIL 16
The Viswa Hindu Parishad here
on Monday demanded revocation of Muslim reservations. The VHP Prakasam
president, Mr T. Mallikarjuna Rao and other leaders said that government
decision on providing reservations to
Muslims from OBC quota is affecting other OBC poor beneficiaries hence Muslim
reservations should be cancelled. They recalled that reservation will be
provided to only castes and not for religions according to constitution hence
Muslims are ineligible for reservations as there were no castes in the Muslim religion.
Referring Ranganath Mishra and Rajendra Sachar committee reports on development
of Muslims, the leaders alleged that both the committees wrongly reported about
Muslims’ status and demanded rejection of two reports by union government. They
further demanded cancellation of proposed bill which is going to allow cow meat
sales all over the country. The VHP leaders along with Bharatiya Janata Party
district president, Mr Goli Nageswara Rao submitted a memorandum to district
revenue officer, Mr J. Radhakrishnamurthy.
