Samaikya supporters stop buses at Ongole October 23, 2011 By DC Correspondent Ongole Samaikya supporters stop buses at Ongole The united Andhra supporters staged a dharna before the APSRTC bus stand and demanded that the staff participate in the ongoing Samaikya movement to protest the state’s bifurcation. The Samaikya supporters led by the state co-convenor of Samaikya-ndhra Rasthra Vidyarthi Joint Action committee (SARVJAC), Mr R. Jagadeesh, squatted in front of the entrance gate and stopped buses. Mentioning the benefits of keeping the state united, protestors forcibly stopped buses, and demanded that the APSRTC staff join the Samaikya movement. Th-ey raised slogans against the Telangana Rashtra Samiti president, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and other Telangana leaders. The SARVJAC leaders demanded that the Union government reject statehood proposal for Telang-ana region. They alleged that the Congress is trying to create differences among the people by dividing the state. They also objected to the statement of the BJP supporting the separate Telangana state. Related Articles The leaders warned stopping of bus services in support of Samaikyandhra, to intensify the united Andhra movement soon. They warned that Samai-kya supporters will conduct mass strikes of stopping trains and buses if Ce-ntre announces statehood for Telangana. As the bus-es were stopped on a large scale due to the dharna, police rushed to the spot and appealed to the protestors to call off the agitation. But as the protestors were adamant, the police forcibly removed them to allow the buses to ply.
