We will win by-elections, says Balineni September 3, 2011 DC Ongole We will win by-elections, says Balineni The YSR Congress and the Congress competed to observe the second death anniversary of former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy all over Prakasam district. During a remembrance meet at the church centre, Ongole MLA and YSRC leader, Mr Balineni Srinivas Reddy, said that YSR was a thinker, hence had initiated innovative welfare schemes to aid the poor. He alleged that the Congress led state government was trying to stop all welfare schemes, fearing YSR’s popularity. Referring to the statement of PCC president, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, that the Jagan group MLAs who had resigned would not retain their seats in the by-elections, Mr Srinivasulu Reddy said that they would prove their mettle by winning the bypolls. He challenged the Congress to fight the elections without using YSR's photo. Former zilla parishad chairperson, Ms Katam Arunamma, and YSR Congress district president, Mr Nukasani Balaji, were among others who participated in the meet. Darsi MLA, Mr Buchepalli Sivaprasad Reddy, cleansed YSR’s statue with milk at Darsi and participated in various programmes. The District Congress Committee president and MLC, Mr Pothula Rama Rao, praised the services of YSR in a remembrance meeting in the party office. He claimed that Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, was continuing all welfare schemes initiated by YSR.
