Anomalies in land patta sanction: TD November 19, 2011 By DC Correspondent Ongole Anomalies in land patta sanction: TD The Telugu Desam alleged here on Friday that Ongole MLA and YSR Congress leader Mr Balineni Srinivas Reddy had sanctioned 2,000 land pattas to fake beneficiaries at Ongole in 2009. TD district president Mr Damacherla Janardhan alleged during a press meet that Mr Srinivas Reddy had sanctioned 4,200 land pattas in Ongole town of which 2,000 were bogus, to get votes in the Assembly elections. Mentioning the demand of Mr Srinivas Reddy of initiating action against the concerned tahsildars for issuing land pattas to fake beneficiaries, Mr Janardhan objected to this and clarified that officials had obeyed the orders of government on the recommendation of Mr Srinivas Reddy. Mr Janardhan alleged that Mr Srinivas Reddy had included 40,000 bogus votes in the Assembly election of 2009 and these were removed after an agitation by opposition parties. He alleged that sanitation was very poor in Ongole town and this was affecting public health with dengue and other epidemics. Pointing to the withdrawal of cases against Telugu Desam president Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu by the then chief minister Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, Mr Janardhan said that the Congress and YSR Congress had colluded and filed false cases against Mr Naidu. He claimed that only Mr Naidu had declared his assets and predicted that he would get a clean chit in the cases by the court. Telugu Desam district secretary Mr Y. Srinivas Rao and other party leaders also spoke on the occasion.
