                                  VIMS to curb antisocial elements

The police department had directed lodges and hotels to install closed circuit cameras to prevent staying of criminals and other anti social elements. The Prakasam superintendent of police, Mr K. Raghuram Reddy during a meeting with lodge and hotels here on Monday said that police department had identified stay of several criminals in the lodges and hotels and further committing various crimes. He directed lodges and hotels to allot rooms to customers only after confirmation of their identity through government listed identity proofs.

Mr Raghuram Reddy said that department had introduced Visitor’s Information Management System (VIMS) to identify wanderings of criminal and police history sheeters in the lodges and hotels. He directed to install computers in all lodges and hotels with CC cameras and further to upload daily visitors lists with photos to police through VIMS software. He added this system will very helpful to curb anti social elements hence all the lodges and hotels should implement the same without fail. Owners of hotels and lodges and police officials participated in the meeting in which VIMS working pattern was displayed.
