CM showers sops on farmers October 3, 2011 By DC Correspondent Ongole CM showers sops on farmers The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, announced a new interest-waiver scheme for farmers. The CM accompanied by Union health minister, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, inaugurated on Sunday, the Ekalvya Gurukul school at Yerragondapalem. Addressing the gathering, Mr Kiran said: “Farmers, who repay bank loans properly, will get the benefit of this scheme. Starting from this rabi, the loan limit will be Rs.1 lakh under the new interest-waiver plan.” He said that 95 lakh farmers will be benefited. He asked farmers to make use of the scheme by promptly paying bank loans. He added that 10 lakh acres in 16,472 villages will get water for cultivation through the Jalaprabha scheme. Referring to the 54 per cent population below the age of 25 years in the state, the CM said that 15 lakh youth will get employment under the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu scheme. Five lakh youth will get employment this year, he added. He said that around 25 lakh ration cards, six lakh houses and five lakh social security pensions would be sanctioned by October 25. Mr Kiran revealed that he had signed the file which provides Rs.1 a kg rice scheme from November 1, the AP Formation Day. Mr Azad and Mr Kiran inaugurated the Indira Jalaprabha scheme of Kasikunta tanda through mobile phone remote system. The rural development and Prakasam district in-charge minister, Mr Dokka Manikyavarapr-asad Rao, minister for tribal welfare, Mr P. Balaraju, Union minister, Ms Panabaka Lakshmi, PCC president, Mr Botsa Satyanarayna, and others participated in the meeting.
