TD happy over success of Naidu’s tour
Telugu Desam cadre are happy with the success of TD president Nara Chand-rababu Naidu’s one-day tour of Prakasam district. They expect good support from farmers in the forthcoming local body and Assembly by-elections due to unrest over Congress government’s failure in aiding agriculture sector.
The TD was failing to win at least two Assembly seats out of 12 for the past three consecutive elections despite arduous efforts by party leaders. The TD was limited to only one seat in the last three assembly elections.
Mr Naidu continuously toured villages of Kanduk-ur, Ulavapadu, Valetivari-palem, Singarayakonda and Kondepi mandals till 9.30 pm on Friday night and later participated in a party meeting at Ongole till 11 pm. He tried to bring celerity among party cadre through his hot speech levelling allegations against Congress.
He predicted that by-elections would come to Ongo-le seat soon due to action by Assembly against sitti-ng MLA, Mr Balineni Sri-nivas Reddy for the violation of Congress whip and asked leaders and activists to work for the victory of party candidate declaring TD district president Da-macherla Janardhan as party aspirant.
Mr Janardhan is the gr-andson of the late TD leader and former minister Damacherla Anjaneyu-lu hence TD leaders are hoping good support from public for their candidate.
Besides this, allegations about anomalies in the la-nd acquisition of Vodare-vu and Nizampatnam Por-ts Industrial Corridor project (Vanpic) against Mr Srinivas Reddy are going to help the party, the leaders expect.
Mr Reddy was winning the Ongole seat for the past three Assembly elections hence TD is expecting un-rest in the public against the MLA.
Several leaders of the TD said that Congress had totally failed to control spiralling prices of essentials and its leaders were involved in scams hence people will not cast their votes to Congress.
