A man who hated his two daughters killed them secretly in Prakasam district, police said. The murders came to light after several years when Pamuru police arrested P. Nazir Khan on receiving a complaint of harassment from his wife Salima. As per a case registered against him now, Nazir Khan, 55, a gold polish worker, took his first daughter Shakirun when she was eight years old to the Manneru creek on the Ulavapadu-Singarayakonda road in 1998 and strangled her. He threw the body into the Manneru waters. He told his wife that he enrolled Shakirun into a madarsa at Chennai and she would return on completion of her course. Later, with the help of his brother Hussein Khan, he took his second daughter Shazida when she was 16 years old on his motorcycle to Singarayakonda on February 25, 2011. He gave her sedatives mixed in a cool drink and placed her on a railway track. He stayed there to confirm that she died after being run over by a train, and returned home. He repeated the madarsa story to his wife. Salima enquired about her daughters several times with Nazir and sought to at least speak with them on phone. However, Nazir never obliged and used to beat her brutally and warned that he would kill her and the children if she did not remain calm. Salma became frightened and lodged a case on March 27, 2012 about the harassment and her missing daughters. Kandukur DSP, N. Ashokkumar, and his team investigated the case and found Nazir guilty of killing his daughters. Police arrested Nazir on Thursday night.
