Troupes from 12 countries to perform January 4, 2012 Ongole Troupes from 12 countries to perform A three-day World Telugu meet to gather noted Telugu personalities at Ongole from January 5 to 7. Various Telugu organisations from all over the world are likely to participate in the meeting. Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, meet organising committee convener Mr P. Vinaykumar and secretary Mr M.V. Rami Reddy said that Chief Minister Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy would inaugurate the three-day meet while ministers Dokka Manikyavara-prasad Rao, Manugunta Mahidhar Reddy, Sake Sailajanath are among the important leaders to attend the programme. The organisers said that 11 officials who worked as collectors of Prakasam district would also attend the meeting. The Sahitya Academy, the state cultural department, the rural development department and others were cooperating for the success of the meet. They mentioned that the meet was aimed to bring all Telugu people on one stage from all over the world and protect the ancient Telugu culture, tradition and language. Telugu Association of North America president Mr Thotakura Prasad, chairman of the 20-Point programme Mr N. Tulasi Reddy, BJP state president Mr G. Kishan Reddy, Union minister Ms Panabaka Lakshmi, Parkal MLA Ms Konda Surekha, Prakasam superintendent of police Mr K. Raghuram Reddy, legislative council chairman Mr A. Chakrapani, cine producer Mr Daggubati Ramanaidu and other prominent people likely to attend the meeing. Cultural troupes from 12 countries to perform stage plays, folk dances and others. They added that three seminars would be held daily on various issues during day while plays, harikatha, burrakatha and other cultural activities would be performed from 5 pm to 11 pm during the three-day meet at the PVR Boy’s high school ground.
