House sites for poor sought

The Communist Party of India activists
tried to barge into collectorate here seeking allocation of house sites to poor
Indiramma beneficiaries of various colonies in Ongole town. CPI Ongole
secretary, Mr U. Prakash Rao along with other leaders tried to enter
collectorate forcibly amidst resistance from police. Protestors squatted on the
floor raising slogans demanding resolution of their issues. The protestors
called off their agitation after District Revenue Officer, Mr J.
Radhakrishnamurthy assured them that the issues would be resolved with the cooperation
of Ongole municipal officials.
