DC CORRESPONDENT

ONGOLE, MAY 5

The Congress cadre had conducted a huge road show on Saturday night at Ongole which pulled crowed in large scale. Congress candidate Ms Magunta Parvatamma said that she was very happy towards returning to maternal Ongole after many long years and vowed to serve people without bias like her husband late Subbarami Reddy. Addressing gatherings during roads show at Addanki bus-stand centre, market, Bapuji complex, church centre and trunk road, Parvatamma asked people to twice think about political parties which were responsible for the present byelection with their selfish politics. She alleged that YSRC supporting MLAs to get personal benefits have submitted resignations to their posts which further make byelections inevitable.

Ms Parvatamma recalled services of Magunta family and asserted that only Congress was capable of giving transparent government. She recalled that late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi had given chance to her husband and now Ms Sonia Gandhi blessed her to enter assembly from Ongole. She vowed to develop Ongole as much as possible in future. Parvatamma said that earlier she decided to shun politics but due to pressures from public, she agreed to contest.

The minister for rural development, Mr Dokka Manikyavaraprasad Rao, alleged that thieves are preparing to rob the state through YSRC hence public should not give chance to YSRC. Mentioning mining anomalies, he appealed people to protect our natural reserves by rejecting YSRC. He alleged that YSRC president, Mr Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy had formed party with corruption money robbed during YSR government. Rajyasabha member Mr J. D. Seelam alleged that Jagan never cooperated with then Congress chief minister, Mr K. Rosaiah. Ongole MP, Mr Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy asked people to change dirty politics by casting their votes to a fair candidate like Parvatamma.

Ms Parvatamma conducted a road show for five hours from 4 pm 9.30 pm as people in large scale stopped Parvatamma demanding to speak.  Parvatamma performed pujas at Valluramma temple along with Congress MLAs of district before the road show.
