Parties intensify Ongole campaign

Top leaders of the Con-gress, Telugu Desam, YSR Congress, BJP, CPI and Lok Satta have intensified campaign for Ongole byelection participating in roadshows, public meetings and activists’ meetings.
The Congress which had earlier lagged behind the TD and YSRC in campaigning due to the late selection of candidate has speeded up its campaign with the visits of Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana and Chief Minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Ms Parvatamma is assuring people about resolving drinking water difficulties, house sites, social security pensions and developing the town as a major corporation.
Kanigiri MLA Mukku Ugranarasimha Reddy, Santanutalapadu legislator B.N. Vijayakumar and Kondepi MLA G.V. Seshu are also touring with Ms Parvatamma.
TD chief Nara Chandra-babu Naidu campaigned for two days in support of his party candidate Damachar-la Janardhan and CPI state secretary K. Narayana also campaigned on Tuesday for the TD.
YSRC candidate Balineni Srinivas Reddy completed his campaign in half of the town. YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will campaign in Ongole Assembly constituency on May 19. He will reach Ongole on May 18 and will stay at Mr Srinivas Reddy’s house. He will launch campaign on May 19 in Eetamukkala, Mandanuru of Kothapatnam mandal, Chervukommupalem, Pelluru, Sarveyreddi-palem, Yarjerla and Vengamukkapalem of Ongole rural mandal.
He will address people at Church Centre of Ongole at 4 pm, at Old Market Centre at 5 pm, at the flyover at 6 pm and will participate in a public meet at 7 pm in Gandhinagar.
BJP senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya campaigned in support of their party candidate Y.C. Yogaiah Yadav and BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy will visit Ongole next week.
Rajya Sabha member and actor-turned-politician K. Chiranjeevi will campaign for the Congress on May 24 at Ongole.
