The Congress is going to implement campaign of repeated direct interactions with voters in the Ongole assembly constituency for a huge majority win to its candidate Ms Magunta Parvatamma in the byelection. The minister for transport and Pradesh Congress President, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana became unhappy over the Congress campaign pattern in the Ongole constituency during a meeting with party leaders and activists here on Saturday. Mr Satyanarayana directed party leaders to appoint local booth level incharges in Ongole, Kothapatnam and other villages of constituency to meet voters in support of Parvatamma. He suggested that party incharges and leaders should try to convince voters by visiting them at least five times in the next one month.

The PCC chief promised good posts in future to these incharges and directed party to complete process in next three days. He claimed all welfare schemes of YSR government as of Congress and alleged that YSR Congress was illegally claiming these schemes as theirs. He defended that no welfare schemes was stopped in the state and claimed that more beneficiaries are availing these schemes. He lamented that 18 MLAs had left Congress showing loyalty to Jagan and not for the welfare of public. He added that Congress had faced many hardships but never flinched back from responsibility of serving public. The PCC chief said that proper repeated explanation of welfare schemes, highlighting YSRC and Telugu Desam corruptions to voters would give sure win to Congress.

Mr Satyanarayana extolled Darsi MLA, Mr Buchepalli Sivaprasad Reddy as incorrupt for returning Congress from YSRC. He tried to woo Kapu leaders/activists and Chiranjeevi fans by praising that Praja Rajyam had saved Congress and promised to give priority to Kapu community. Taking Ongole byelection as prestigious, he hoped Congress win due to services of Magunta family to constituency people. Union minister for textiles and handlooms, Ms Panabaka Lakshmi recalled free water and other charity services of Magunta family and asked Congress cadre to work for Parvatamma with the cooperation of people’s representatives.

Minister for rural development, Mr Dokka Manikyavaraprasad Rao referring agriculture loan waiver, NREGS and other schemes claimed only Congress is capable of developing people and asked activists to awaken voters about corruption and illegalities of YSRC candidate, Mr Balineni Srinivas Reddy. Minister for municipal administration and urban development, Mr Manugunta Mahidhar Reddy, Ongole MP, Mr Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy and others encouraged party cadre with their speeches.
