Meet
voters frequently, Congress cadre told
DC CORRESPONDENT
ONGOLE, MAY 12
The Congress is going to
implement campaign of repeated direct interactions with voters in the Ongole
assembly constituency for a huge majority win to its candidate Ms Magunta
Parvatamma in the byelection. The minister for transport and Pradesh Congress
President, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana became unhappy over the Congress campaign
pattern in the Ongole constituency during a meeting with party leaders and
activists here on Saturday. Mr Satyanarayana directed party leaders to appoint
local booth level incharges in Ongole, Kothapatnam and other villages of
constituency to meet voters in support of Parvatamma. He suggested that party
incharges and leaders should try to convince voters by visiting them at least
five times in the next one month.
The PCC chief promised good
posts in future to these incharges and directed party to complete process in
next three days. He claimed all welfare schemes of YSR government as of
Congress and alleged that YSR Congress was illegally claiming these schemes as
theirs. He defended that no welfare schemes was stopped in the state and
claimed that more beneficiaries are availing these schemes. He lamented that 18
MLAs had left Congress showing loyalty to Jagan and not for the welfare of
public. He added that Congress had faced many hardships but never flinched back
from responsibility of serving public. The PCC chief said that proper repeated
explanation of welfare schemes, highlighting YSRC and Telugu Desam corruptions
to voters would give sure win to Congress.
Mr Satyanarayana extolled
Darsi MLA, Mr Buchepalli Sivaprasad Reddy as incorrupt for returning Congress
from YSRC. He tried to woo Kapu leaders/activists and Chiranjeevi fans by
praising that Praja Rajyam had saved Congress and promised to give priority to
Kapu community. Taking Ongole byelection as prestigious, he hoped Congress win due
to services of Magunta family to constituency people. Union minister for
textiles and handlooms, Ms Panabaka Lakshmi recalled free water and other
charity services of Magunta family and asked Congress cadre to work for
Parvatamma with the cooperation of people’s representatives.
Minister for rural
development, Mr Dokka Manikyavaraprasad Rao referring agriculture loan waiver,
NREGS and other schemes claimed only Congress is capable of developing people
and asked activists to awaken voters about corruption and illegalities of YSRC
candidate, Mr Balineni Srinivas Reddy. Minister for municipal administration
and urban development, Mr Manugunta Mahidhar Reddy, Ongole MP, Mr Magunta
Srinivasulu Reddy and others encouraged party cadre with their speeches.
