Three
die of food poisoning in Prakasam

Three persons died and four
others became critically ill due to food poison at Akkapalli village under
Racharla mandal of Prakasam district on Saturday night. T. Potuluraaiah 4, T. Ramulamma 55, T.
Potalaiah 30 and other family members started vomiting after eating dinner at 8
pm in their house. Adjacent relatives immediately responded and tried to shift
them to Giddalur for treatment but trio died on the way. Brahmam, Padma, Vishnu
and Bhumayya who complained of vomiting were admitted into Giddalur government
hospital for treatment. As the condition of Brahmam and Pamda worsened, they
were further shifted to Nandyal government hospital. Family members said that
they became ill after eating “vadiyalu” in the meals. Two days ago, family
members sprayed a chemical substance which was used in farms to restrain
mosquitoes and the vadiyalu which were kept open became poisonous with the chemical
effect. Giddalur police led by circle inspector, N. Satyanarayana registered a
case and inspected food.
