BJP predicts government collapse after
byelections
DC CORRESPONDENT
ONGOLE, MAY 6
The Bharatiya Janata Party is
going to contest from 13 places in the ongoing byelections for 18 assembly
seats in Andhra Pradesh. BJP national secretary, Mr K. Lakshman said here on
Sunday that BJP will put their candidates in fray in 13 places including Ongole
and Parkala in the byelections. He clarified that BJP would contest byelection
alone and ruled out any alliances with other political parties. He mentioned
that Congress and Telugu Desam had formed alliances with Telangana Rashtra
Samiti but BJP never done the same in that past eleven years. He affirmed that
BJP was supporting Telangana JAC for separate Telangana state and party will
announce their candidates on May 8 after a core committee meet.
Mr Lakshman predicted the collapse
of government after byelections in the state and imposition of president rule
imposition by union government. He opined that Congress lost public confidence
hence it is failing to win assembly seats in byelections. Mentioning various
scams and corruption of Congress, he predicted that BJP would come into power
in the centre and state with public support. He added that Congress had only
130 members in the assembly hence government is running with the support of
Prajarajyam and Majlis.
Mr Lakshman leveled
allegations against YSR Congress president, Mr Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy of
robbing public money during YSR government. BJP Prakasam president, Mr Goli
Nageswara Rao, its Ongole president, Mr Y. C. Yogaiah Yadav and other leaders
participated in the press meet.
