rivals as thieves, dacoits
DC CORRESPONDENT
ONGOLE, MAY 11
Telugu Desam president, Mr
Nara Chandrababu Naidu started the TD byelection campaign in Kandukur under Nellore parliament
constituency in support of his party candidate Mr V. Venugopal Reddy on Friday.
Mr Naidu leveled allegations against both the Congress and YSR Congress during
road show meets. He alleged that Nellore YSRC candidate, Mr Mekapati Rajmohan
Reddy was a benami for YSRC president Mr Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy for various
businesses hence he had resigned as MP and joined YSRC. Admitting migration of
TD leaders into the YSRC, he clarified that some leaders attracted by money had
shifted to YSRC but activists were with party.
Mr Naidu alleged that
Congress aspirant, Mr T. Subbarami Reddy was spending huge amounts to attract
voters but people are angry with Congress corruption, so they would vote for
TD. He said that minister for urban development, Mr Manugunta Mahidhar Reddy
was elected as MLA from Kandukur but never worked for constituency development.
He ridiculed that Congress office Gandhi bhavan at Hyderabad switched into Brandi bhavan due to
Pradesh Congress Committee president, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana Rao’s involvement
in liquor business. Mr Naidu alleged that chief minister, Mr Nallari Kirankumar
Reddy had totally failed to provide good governance to state public. He
commented Congress became thieves’ party and YSRC dacoit’s party. He alleged
that Mr Mahidhar Reddy had occupied government and private lands in his
constituency in benami names.
Former CM lamented that as
many as 200 TD activists were killed in the state in the Congress government
which show total failure of law and order. He termed Rajiv Arogyasri as
largesse for corporate hospitals and no use for poor people. He announced
launching of a new health insurance scheme replacing Arogyasri by TD.
TD aspirant, Mr Venugopal
Reddy, former MLA, Mr Divi Sivaram and others participated in the road show.
Earlier Mr Naidu conducted a meeting with party leaders and activists and tried
to boost up their morals through a provocative 45 minutes speech.
