RIMS awaits medical council permission

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of
Medical Sciences (RIMS) officials went to New Delhi on Thursday to meet Medical
Council of India towards getting permissions for M. B. B. S second year. As
many as 100 students were admitted into RIMS medical college last year.
Recently a team from MCI conducted inspections for two days at Ongole but denied
further permissions for fresh admissions and starting of classes for second
year. The medical counseling for fresh admissions was scheduled in November
this year. As MCI did not give any permission till now on this issue, RIMS officials
were in trouble over the fresh admissions.

Anjaiah went to Hyderabad
on Wednesday and explained about MCI opinion to director of medical education,
Dr K. Vishnuprasad. The duo went to New
Delhi to meet MCI seeking permissions. S#peaking to
this newspaper Dr Anjaiah said that they are going to invite MCI to inspect
RIMS seeking permissions by explaining completion of necessary works in the
college. He hoped for permissions from MCI with the cooperation of Ongole MP,
Mr Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy.
