Balineni intensifies bypoll campaign

The YSR Congress leaders have
speedup their byelection campaign in colonies of Ongole town. Former minister
and YSRC aspirant, Balineni Srinivas Reddy meeting voters personally and
highlighting the YSRC symbol, the ceiling fan. Multiple contest is on for
byelection as Damacharla Janardhan was contesting from Telugu Desam, Magunta
Parvatamma from Congress, A. Sivaramesh Reddy from Loksatta, Y. C. Yogaiah
Yadav from Bharatiya Janata Party and several others are preparing as independents.
Mr Srinivas Reddy visited
Gopalnagar, Santapeta and other areas of the town. He reeled out developmental
works carried by him as MLA and minister. He vowed that YSRC would continue all
welfare schemes introduced by Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy to help poor and needy
people.
He alleged that TD was using
religion and castes to defame its president and Kadapa MP, Y. S. Jaganmohan
Reddy. He recalled that YSR and other leaders had visited the Tirumala temple several
times and Jagan had also visited the temple as ardent devotee having faith in Lord
Venkateswara. He ruled out all allegations on this issue by TD and other
parties as baseless.
Meanwhile, Mr Balineni Pranit
Reddy along with his wife Kavya (son and daughter-in-law of Srinivas Reddy) campaigned
in rural areas of the constituency. Ms Kavya attracted women voters asking
votes in a traditional way by putting vermillion on women’s foreheads at
Agraharam and other villages. The Congress leaders also started campaigning in
the absence of their candidate Pavatamma but no activity was started from BJP,
Loksatta and others.
